Rey Mysterio will go down as the best Luchador to step foot in a WWE ring. His innovative Lucha wrestling style and his iconic outfits got fans liking him. The most notable thing to notice in Rey is his masks. He made the Lucha Libre wrestling mask tradition popular among fans around the world.
The former world champion will feature on the cover WWE 2k22 game. Rey has been wrestling since 1989 when he was 14 years old and has wrestled around for 20 years in WWE. For 20 years, Rey has worn innumerable outfits and masks.

Recently, Rey Mysterio appeared on YouTube show Barstool Rasslin. There he was asked about how many masks he has collected over the years during his time in WWE/WCW.
Rey said, “I think it’s a little bit over 1,000, somewhere around 1,100.” He also said, “Not even counting the ones I have given away over the years.”
Over the years, Rey Mysterio has used many outfits and matching masks. He has given away masks to fans during his entrance and also during signings. He wonders where are those give-away signed masks ended.
Rey also shared how he does not wear all outfits and mask multiple times. He has a habit of using the special wrestling gear and masks of PPVs and WrestleMania only once. He wears some of his mask and wrestling gears multiple times but keeps a long time gap at a house show and weekly show. This is how Rey has kept his gimmick iconic and fresh over the years.

Rey was a unique wrestler to make his debut in WWE in 2002. He used to jump from below the ring on the ramp wearing his baggy pants. The pants were of a shiny color, like red, silver and gold.

In the interview, he opened up about his debut outfit. Rey said, “A lot of that material unfortunately due to climate, I would have them hang just like clothes and lot of those outfits got stuck with each other and just ended up going to waste.”

Rey said he has OCD for his costumes and now he selects proper material ones. He knows how his outfit has affected his career positively and cares for them. His respect for his wrestling outfit is partly responsible for his success. Whenever in the word mask will appear in pro-wrestling, the name Rey Mysterio will be the first to appear in anyone’s mind.
