Hulk Hogan Claims 458 Lbs WWE Legend Was a “Good Guy” Despite Scary Features That Repulsed People

Over the years, several pro-wrestlers left a lasting impression on the fans. However, the impression was of the character they played and not the one behind the mask. Therefore, most of the time, their colleagues clarified details during interviews. One such is Hulk Hogan clarifying the image of King Kong Bundy.

During his conversation on The Two-Man Power Trip, The Hulkster revealed that King Kong Bundy was actually a great human being. He came across as rough & tough, but backstage, he was a genuinely nice fellow.

“Austin idol is huge as well. He had that same face, just so huge as Mike McCord that you couldn’t tell he was a good-looking guy, but that’s how Bundy was. He was always nice to me, he was just heavy-handed as hell,” said Hogan.

Now, there is this rolling theory that big guys are rough guys in the pro-wrestling business. However, it’s been proven that it’s not always the case.

The Hulkster and King Kong Bundy main-evented WrestleMania 2

Back in the day, WWE did an unusual deal with WrestleMania 2. Instead of airing the PPV from one location, they aired WrestleMania 2 from three different locations – New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

However, The Hulkster and Bundy only main-evented the WrestleMania that happened in Los Angeles. But, The Hulkster believes that their storyline had the potential to carry forward and main-event all three PPVs.

He said, “To wrestle him to have him in that little storyline if everything went awry and screwed up everything, if everything fell off into the ocean in New York and Chicago, we’d have still held our own. We’d have been okay.” [H/t Two-Man Power Trip]

Even though they didn’t get the chance to do that, Hogan and Bundy made a name for themselves in the pro-wrestling industry as WWE Legends.
