Hulk Hogan played a major role in WWE’s global success. The Hulkster was Vince McMahon’s key man in the 1980s and 1990s. But in 1993, he left WWE and joined WCW in 1994. Again in 2002, Hogan made his WWE return.
From established names like Steve Austin and The Undertaker to young talents like Brock Lesnar and John Cena, Mr. McMahon had several talented individuals working for WWE in 2002. Following his return to WWE in 2002, Hulk Hogan turned his back on one of Mr. McMahon’s top WWE stars in the 2000s. Here we are talking about Brock Lesnar.
In Brock Lesnar’s book, Death Clutch, Lesnar claimed Vince McMahon wanted Hogan and Lesnar in a storyline. Brock Lesnar revealed Hulk Hogan was supposed to face the Beast Incarnate at Survivor Series in 2002. But as per Lesnar’s guess, Hogan did not like Mr. McMahon’s idea for Brock Lesnar vs Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series 2002.

Brock Lesnar noted, “He [Hulk Hogan] was going to come back, looking for revenge after I hammered him on TV. Vince wanted to do a story line where Hogan was looking to settle the score, and the Lesnar vs.”
He further added, “Hogan match would air live from Madison Square Garden as the main event of Survivor Series 2002. Vince wanted Hogan to look really good, but fall short of beating me for the title. I guess the ol’ Hulkster didn’t like that idea too much.”
