Hulk Hogan had a great run as the ultimate baby face of the company and made Vince McMahon millions of dollars in the 80s. Any wrestling fan can not forget his career in WWE and WCW.

The Hulkamania kicked off when Hogan returned to WWE once Vince McMahon purchased the company from his father. He defeated the Iranian wrestler The Iron Sheik to win his first WWE Championship in Madison Square Garden in 1984.

The Iron Sheik, since losing his title to Hulk Hogan, has always been kayfabe vocal about taking shots at The Hulkster. The Iranian wrestler has also come forward to talk about it since he joined Twitter.

Recently, Sheik replied to a post of Bovada on Twitter. Bovada had tweeted, “What’s the best sports hype song?”

The former WWE Champion replied to the tweet saying, “WHEN 2 BECOME 1 BY SPICE GIRLS MAKE ME PUMP UP TO BEAT THE F**K OF HULK HOGAN.”

The Iranian Wrestler is a fan of 1996’s Spice Girls’ song, 2 Become 1. However, all those years later, The Iron Sheik finds new ways to talk trash about The Hulkster. A few months back, The Iron Sheik posted on Twitter highlighting a record of Hulkster. Again, this tweet was a dig towards Hogan, as he always does.

The tweet quotes, “HULK HOGAN HAS BEEN A BIG TIME JABRONI FOR 15,343 STRAIGHT DAYS. NO ONE WILL BREAK THAT EVER BUBBA.”

The Iron Sheik was a popular heel throughout the 1980s. Sheik, after retirement, gained popularity on the internet because of his shoot interviews, vulgar language, and his intense dislike for some of his fellow professional wrestlers, particularly Hulk Hogan.

The Iron Sheik lost his WWE title to Hulk Hogan on 23rd January 1984 at Madison Square Garden. Sheik was the heel at the time and had generated massive heat from the audience. Meanwhile, Hogan was the ultimate babyface. Vince McMahon had always visioned Hogan as the great babyface for the company.

The Hulkster was in his second run with WWE after taking a two years hiatus from the company. However, that match changed the landscape for pro-wrestling as Hogan went to become the ultimate main event roster after that first title win.

It’s no doubt “The Immortal” one is the greatest wrestler in pro-wrestling history. Even after being retired, Hulkamania still runs wild. Surprisingly, as of 2022, The Iron Sheik is the only Iranian wrestler who has ever won the WWE Championship.
