The former WWE Superstar, Jacques Rougeau, is best known for his time in the World Wrestling Federation. During the 1980s and 1990s, he performed under the name The Mountie in the wrestling community. The Canadian fighter had a rivalry with Hulk Hogan and defeated him in 1997. It was a major moment of his career, even when most of the fans were cheering for Hulk Hogan.

The Canadian wrestler Mr. Mountie achieved splendid success again in 1992 when he defeated his countryman Bret “Hitman” Hart for the Intercontinental Championship.

WWE (then WWF) backstage had a lot of heat between professional wrestlers to reach the top. Jacques Rougeau is also remembered for a notorious backstage feud with the Dynamite Kid.

For example, they used to cut the pants off other superstars before going to the airport or maybe shaving another guy’s hair. “I think that Vince and the boys would laugh about it because it was always something about ego,” Jacques said. The former Intercontinental Champion said, “You could be sitting in a class at school, and you have this guy who’s always doing dirty jokes or being mean. Then he looks at you; you have two choices. You either look at him and laugh because then he’s not going to touch you because you’re on his side. Or you can make a man of yourself and don’t look at him and not acknowledge him.” The statement by Mr. Mountie states he was not among the ones who would acknowledge getting bullied.

Weeks later, Mr. Mountie took revenge on him and attacked Dynamite Kid backstage by knocking out Dynamite’s four teeth. Jacques assumed he might get fired by Vince McMahon over the incident. However, to his surprise, Vince McMahon did not do that.

I think it wasn’t the way may be to approach it because the Bulldogs were saying, ‘Okay, he [Vince McMahon] heard it. He laughed a little bit, but he didn’t fire us, so I think we could keep going.’ They got worse. So when I stood up, the only guy who stood up to them, I think Vince realized that he screwed up, that he shouldn’t let it go that far.” Jacques Rougeau added.

Mr. Mountie recollected that he thinks McMahon was half encouraging the pranks, as he felt some regret for stepping in sooner to put an end to the Bulldogs’ backstage antics.
