In a recent video chat, WWE Superstar Xavier Woods took the opportunity to explain how the riots in America were absolutely justified and did nit exceed themselves.

Growing up as a child is a pleasant memory of most people and Woods’ childhood was the same. However, he recollects the number of warnings his parents gave him.

As a child, I didn’t understand it”, said Woods.  But looking back at it all, he says his parents were warning him because they wanted him to stay alive, not just safe.

Woods says that it now feels like all he and his family did was survive. He explains how most black children like him take musical classes, join programs, and participate in certain things for their own willingness to do so.

He claims that this is just a facade of sorts and that now he understands as an adult that he did all that stuff not to fit in, or enhance his skills but to merely appear non-threatening.

I had to work on presenting myself as non-threatening,” says Woods. He explains on no one will understand the pressure unless they are in the situation themselves.

It isn’t something that can be spoken out, but more of an underlying nagging feeling. Woods says that there’s nothing to hating someone because it’s easy. The real pressure is on the one that’s being hated, to deal with that.

Woods also goes on to paint a very nice metaphorical image in which he says that everyone starts at the same place and everyone has the same opportunity.

No one should ‘survive’ to live says, Xavier Woods

The person above you on the ladder however, breaks five or six rungs on it. Then they expect you to work twice as hard to get up and use the ‘equal opportunities’ as a mockery.

He finds meaning in the movement by explaining how the goal of the community is not to get more rights but to get a real, equal footing on the same platform, the same rung of the ladder like any other citizen.

Woods clearly has a point in his argument that made a lot of sense. No one should live in a world where staying alive is the primary concern.

A lot of other superstars have taken to social media to rally the troops. Xavier Woods has joined the cause- to make America a nation of true equality.
