WWE fans were exhilarated over the news of Matt Riddle making his way to the SmackDown roster. Eventually, I find out I’m going to be in the Rumble. Now I’m stoked! I’m like, ‘what if I get my chance!” Riddle said.

Confrontation with Brock Lesnar

Riddle mentions how Heyman came up to him to say that he will have no chance to face Lesnar. He mockingly compares Heyman to WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.

Riddle says, “Then, of course, Heyman and his security guard came up to me and basically told me I had no chance in hell – it was very Vince McMahon like– no chance in hell that I was going to get that match with him and I’d have better luck doing something else. And then he [Lesnar] tells me, ‘it’s never going to happen.’

Paul Heyman’s words disappointed Riddle. He was looking forward to facing Lesnar in the future, but this was a letdown for the Original Bro. Riddle was heartbroken over the confrontation but wasn’t ready to give up.

“I wasn’t mad and wasn’t sad. I was more just heartbroken. But it’s like when a girl turns you down on a date; hey, it doesn’t mean give up completely. It’s like OK, let’s go back to the drawing board; maybe I came on a little too strong this time. Maybe I’ll try something different to convince him, ya know? So that’s how that scenario played out”, Riddle explains.

The Original Bro has called out Lesnar on several occasions. Since arriving in NXT, he has had some spectacular matchups. Both Superstars have similar backgrounds, so putting them in the same ring could make way for some thrilling moments.

Riddle is on top form as of late. The company clearly wants him to get better. Now that he is moving to SmackDown, he won’t be void of chances. A feud with some of the big names in the roster could eventually lead him to face Lesnar.
