Some backstage events in the history of WWE demand more attention than the in-ring happenings. Fans are familiar with some iconic backstage beef for references. In recent days, if you jot down the names of the most trolled wrestlers of all time, former WWE star Ryback might rise to the top. The WWE universe mocks him for his comments and antics. However, their reasons are arguably justified as the Big Guy himself serves them juicy content. The former WWE star puts forth disdain for several superstars and the company as well.

Ryback nevertheless had a decent run in WWE initially after his debut in 2012. He came across CM punk several times in his tenure and that didn’t result in any good, something the WWE faithful are more than aware of. The duo had a notorious beef in WWE. Later, Punk moved on with AEW, where he currently signed while Ryback chose to make headlines through his online rants in podcast shows.

But their issues, however, continue to wingspan. Punk earlier claimed that Ryback is an ‘unsafe’ wrestler who ‘took years’ off his career, during his infamous interview with the Art of Wrestling podcast.

Years later of that claim, Ryback finally chose to spill the beans regarding his real-life heat with the Best in the World.

During his latest interaction with Konnan’s K100 show, the former superstar addressed the immediate cause of their tumultuous relationship. The Silverback noted, ”We got along great, I thought, prior to that. I can tell you, he and Cena were the two merch sellers when I came up and I got hot, and I’ll never forget he came over to me when the merch guys were showing me the numbers, and Punk became aware of it and he goes, ‘Holy s***.’ From that point forward, I felt like everything kinda changed with everything.”

Well, it’s not only Punk who fell victim to Ryback’s apathy. The retired wrestler seemingly had issues with almost every wrestler he met in the ring. But his hate for John Cena also reached great heights.

Ryback was John Cena’s arch-nemesis in WWE; explained

There was a time when Ryback sparked like the next face of the company, garnering a lot of appreciation from fans. He had the luck to have some notable feuds with legendary John Cena, too. That said, the two men didn’t always get along well in the ring. Given Cena’s extra ruthlessness on the mic toward the released star made him blast him immediately after his WWE exit.

When Ryback went on a tirade against the company during a series of interviews, John Cena was his top target. Cena, on the flip side, didn’t comment on their animosity so far.

Now, we need to see if the retired star heads to a WWE return, mending the burned bridges with the company, as he hinted at earlier this year. However, even if that happens, how fans and other WWE veterans will accept him is a big matter of doubt.
