WWE Backlash will host some great matchups. Perhaps, the biggest one of the lot would be Edge going up against Randy Orton. WWE has hyped the match further dubbing it as “The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”.

Edge will be in a proper match after nearly a decade. Great things are expected from the event in which WWE has already finished tapping. Now the Rated R Superstar has talked about the match in a Twitter post. You can look at the post below.

Edge on his match at Backlash

In some earlier tweets, he had also mentioned how he had the “Greatest Talk Ever” with his girls, kind of mocking the matchup at Backlash.

“In case you took my tweets this week literally, I was just having fun and blowing off steam in what was a very pressure filled month. The pressure I put on myself. To perform, to prove to myself that I could still perform at the level I want and expect and to give our fan base something to enjoy and talk about. To hopefully give them the same feeling I get watching Bret Hart matches”, Edge wrote in the post.

He mentions that the series of tweets over the past week was to blow off the pressure. Edge is seriously looking to provide a great watch for his fans. Coming into the ring after such a long time is surely a ton of pressure, but Edge is handling it well.

This is my first pure wrestling match in 9.5 years. After having another neck fusion and my right wrist fused. At 46 years old. Being billed beforehand The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever. During a pandemic. With a limited audience. Kinda crazy. Kinda fun. MASSIVE challenge. And if you know me? Then you know I live for these challenges. I’d rather be put to this task than leave it to someone else”

Edge took retirement from wrestling after suffering various injuries to the neck. He came back to in-ring performance earlier this year in the Royal Rumble. Now he is up for a true test among the fans. It is a big challenge for him, and given his age, he doesn’t have many years ahead of him.

He also mentions how he has poured all heart and soul into the match at Backlash. He says he cares about his work more and nothing is more comparable to it.

What we can expect at Backlash

Edge finishes the post stating that at Backlash fans will see two men giving everything they got. He says it’s subjective if it’ll be the “Greatest Wrestling Match Ever”, but he’s sure that he’d walk away from the ring proud.

“Just know that when you watch Backlash, you will see two men, two professionals, two WRESTLERS, giving you EVERYTHING they have on that night. Against my toughest opponent. Against my greatest opponent. ‘GREATEST WRESTLING MATCH EVER?’ All subjective. Can’t worry about it. But I’ll walk away proud knowing it all got left in the ring to tell the story. And hopefully, give all of your minds a little break from what’s going on in the world”, Edge concluded.

WWE has already finished tapping the matches for Backlash. There is no clarification on who won the match, but we can safely assume that the match will be one of the greatest in recent times.
