Recently, in an exclusive interview with Ishan Chavan of EssentiallySports, James Ellsworth talked about a scrapped Royal Rumble spot with the Beast Incarnate.

Addressing the time prior to the 2017 Men’s Royal Rumble Match, Ellsworth said, “When I first got there, they told me I might be doing something in the Royal Rumble with Brock Lesnar. And I was like, ‘Whoa, whoa, cool.'”

“And they’re like, ‘No, no, we are going do it with Braun [Braun Strowman] instead’. I was like, ‘Okay, that makes more sense because him and I have a history together,'” he added.

James Ellsworth entered the 2017 Men’s Royal Rumble Match at number 11, but was eliminated in just 15 seconds.

The former WWE superstar looked reluctant to get in the ring as Braun Strowman was waiting for him inside. But after Dean Ambrose came out, he tricked Ellsworth into entering the ring only to get attacked by The Monster Among Men.

As for Brock Lesnar, he entered the match at number 26 and eliminated three men before getting eliminated by Goldberg.
