Jeff Hardy Compares Sheamus Feud With The Notorious Storyline Of CM Punk
In a recent interview with WWE’s The Bump, WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy talked about the premise of his storyline against Sheamus and how it affected him.
Jeff Hardy’s career was temporarily halted by his addiction issues. His promising potential was derailed by misconduct outside the ring. These issues deprived WWE of one of the most extreme high flyers the business had ever seen.

In his storyline against “The Celtic Warrior”, Sheamus tries bringing out this side of him. He constantly tempts Hardy to get back into the addiction. Fighting the taunts, Hardy attempts to fight back not only Sheamus but defend his pride.
“It’s definitely a huge motivator, man. Since my early 20’s, I’ve been in and out of addiction – the roller coaster of good and bad,” admits Hardy. “Sadly, but in a creative sense, it’s been a big power for me.”
This story is reminiscent of the one all those years ago against CM Punk. Punk had the same motive behind his actions. However, he wanted Hardy to stay out of it, much different than Sheamus.
“Even back in the days of feuding with [CM] Punk, it kind of reminds me of that with Sheamus,” says Hardy. “It can be extremely uncomfortable at times, but that’s when I’ve got to stay strong on my beliefs, and where I am right now.”
Jeff Hardy admits that using his weaknesses to form a storyline can be difficult to comprehend sometimes. Hardy is clean now and is a much more mature person than he was. Working through his issues, he has bounced back to do what he loves most.
Jeff Hardy holds no grudge against CM Punk
Hardy recalls the time CM Punk cashed in his Money in the Banks briefcase on him at Extreme Rules in 2009. Punk took advantage of a winded Hardy to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship that night.
