John Cena is one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time. His several accomplishments and accolades have earned him legendary status. Since making his main roster debut in 2002, Cena has won the hearts of his fans. It definitely made fans a bit sad when the 45-year-old left WWE as a full-timer and joined Hollywood to pursue an acting career.
Even though we love to see Mr. Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect making a huge success in Hollywood, the wrestling fandom definitely missed him. As he hasn’t had any matches this year, Cena is set to face off The Tribal Chief on the last day of this year!

2022 was the first year, where Cena did not have a single match. However, it is about to change when, on the last SmackDown of 2022, John Cena will team up with Kevin Owens to take on the team of Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn.
For the last 20 years, John Cena has at least wrestled one match in a calendar year. And, again this year, he would be wrestling on 2022’s last SmackDown. When Owens moved up to the main-roster, he was a bitter foe to The Leader of Cenation. However, the duo has moved past that, to text each other late in the night.
On the latest episode of the Cheap Heat podcast, Kevin Owens spoke about his upcoming match with Reigns and Zayn. He further stated the chemistry between him and Cena. Owens stated how Cena once texted him without any context at 1 AM in the morning.
The Prizefighter revealed, “In fact, the last text I got from him was ‘I LOVE WRESTLING’ in all caps, unprompted. I think it was like 1 a.m. too.” The former Universal Champion revealed that it was so late that he did not know where in the world John Cena was during that time.
