Becoming a world champion in a company like WWE is a big deal. The wrestlers who win it are not just carrying the most prestigious title in the company, but they also become its face. In a new episode of his podcast, Kurt Angle talked about his perks as world champion.
Kurt has a podcast called ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ where he discusses everything related to wrestling. In his recent episode, he talked about his match with The Undertaker, his rise to success, and his time as a WWE champion.

Paul Bromwell, the podcast host, asked him if he saw an increase in his salary when he became a world champion. Kurt said, “Yes, a big pay increase. It’s like night and day. I mean, when you’re the world champion, you’re getting paid a lot more money.”
He mentioned that the pay increased by three to five times the average amount. Being a world champion is a big deal, and the money is a significant upside.

Bromwell then said that it makes sense why everyone wants to become a champion, as they earn large amounts of money after becoming the company’s face.

“Well, let’s not forget, once you make it to that level, that main event level where you’re there consistently all the time, you don’t have to be wrestling for the world title. It depends who you’re wrestling with.”

“In other words, if you’re wrestling Stone Cold and he’s not the champion, you’re still gonna get paid big bucks. Because he’s a big name, he’s the biggest name in wrestling. So it all depends on who you’re wrestling with. It doesn’t necessarily mean the title.” Angle said.
Kurt said if you wrestle any big name like The Undertaker, The Rock, or Stone Cold, wrestlers will get paid back big.

“It’s the people that you’re wrestling too. You’re wrestling The Undertaker; you’re going to get paid big, wrestle The Rock, you’re going to get paid big, Stone Cold, you’re going to get back paid big, especially when those guys establish themselves as the biggest stars of all time. So it’s not just about the title anymore. It’s also about who you’re wrestling.”
Paul added that the goal of every wrestler should be to either win the world title or wrestle against the top draw.
