WWE superstars take things to the next level when it comes to getting themselves over and play right into their character traits. Heels often overplay their hand and insult the live audience, trash talk about the local sports team and whatnot. They also make certain over-the-top claims that fiddle with reality but may not be true. On the latest episode of Monday Night RAW, a WWE legend made an outlandish claim about the new Twitter owner Elon Musk.

Former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield aka JBL recently aligned himself with Baron Corbin on RAW. He has been acting as an on-screen mentor for Corbin and does commentary for his matches.

This week when Corbin wrestled Cedric Alexander, JBL name-dropped Elon Musk. He claimed that Musk had been calling him for a specific reason.

JBL reveals why Elon Musk called him

Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter got the world buzzing and, as always, WWE knows how to capitalize on a trending topic. WWE has put JBL, one of the best talkers and heels, in pro wrestling, alongside Baron Corbin as his manager.

A couple of weeks ago on RAW, JBL cut a heel promo while in Charlotte, North Carolina, before Corbin’s match. He took a shot at NBA legend Michael Jordan, who owns a stake in the Charlotte Hornets basketball team and said, “You even took the GOAT of all GOATs, Michael Jordan, and turned him into a LOSER!”

During Corbin’s match against Cedric Alexander, JBL, who was on commentary said Elon Musk called him and said he would only buy Twitter if Baron Corbin stays on that platform. This may be an extravagant claim, but it was a typical heel thing to do.

Heels often come up with such quirks to add to the gimmick. It may be up for debate whether Musk actually called JBL regarding the former United States Champion. But the former APA member is doing his best to project Corbin as a valuable member of the roster.
