Freddie Prinze Jr. sat down for a chat with 90s Hollywood Celebrity Macaulay Culkin. The duo discussed their love for wrestling and how the situation has changed over time, especially with what WWE is doing with its match cards, Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns, and PPVs.

During the conversation on Wrestling with Freddie, the topic of PPV match cards came up. At this point, Culkin revealed that WWE has come to a point where it’s doing almost the same thing over and over again with the PPVs. While he enjoys watching Lesnar take on Reigns, that’s not all he wants to see.

“Don’t get me wrong but you know I’m actually looking forward to what will be different this time, but if I’ve seen Brock Lesnar Roman Reigns one more frickin time you know? Yeah, that’s the thing is that, like, they’ll do the same pay-per-view, like back to back.”

Macaulay Culkin gave a possible reason why WWE is booking the same matches

When they were discussing WWE making the same matches, the conversation leaned towards a possible reason for this. According to the duo, WWE releasing a vast number of Superstars in 2021 led to them not having enough names to create multiple storylines to book different matches in every PPV.

“It’s always The New Day, The Usos, like every frickin card. It’s just like, you know, and I understand that, like, their roster obviously isn’t as deep as it was a year ago. They’ve cut, I think, 86 wrestlers from their roster in the past calendar year. So it’s like, you don’t really have this rich variety that maybe you might have had before and stuff. But even then, man, it’s just like, you know, how many times can we watch the same match over?”
