Bobby Lashley has become a new beast under the management of MVP, his character is much more refined. On a recent podcast, he revealed his thought on MVP as his mentor.

“We did our little stint back in Impact. It was one of those things that we threw together, and I thought it went really well,” says Lashley “I was excited because the chemistry we had was natural.”

The best thing about Lashley and MVP is that they are friends outside the ring as well. This makes them cooperate and understand each other better.

“He and I are friends, so the things that we do on camera is the same thing we do off-camera, but they gave us this opportunity to play with it a little bit,” says Lashley.

Initially appointed for a short term, MVP joined forces with Lashley, replacing Lana as his manager. Things took a drastic turn from there.

“When he came here, I think MVP was just coming to do the MVP Lounge,” says Lashley “He had a son, and he wanted his son to see him under the lights one time.”

Pairing up MVP with Bobby Lashley was a decision made by Paul Heyman

Lashley explains how Paul Heyman, the Former Executive Director of RAW was instrumental in pairing him up with MVP.

“Paul Heyman came over to me. He was like, ‘What do you think about MVP?’ I was like, ‘It’s a no-brainer. Yeah, I would like to work with MVP. I’ve worked with him in the past. What are we gonna do?’ He said, ‘I don’t know, but I think it’ll be good.’

Bobby Lashley’s career took off like a rocket ever since MVP joined his side. MVP’s mentorship has inspired Lashley to do great things. He has become one of the biggest competitors on the roster. This is all thanks to the one and only Paul Heyman.

He even fought his way up to the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre and earned the title opportunity. He came short of winning due to the interference of his ex-manager and wife Lana.
