WWE NXT Superstar, Leon Ruff, took to social media to announce his engagement to NXT referee Aja Smith.

The end of 2020 is turning out to be a great one for Ruff. Earlier during the month, he defeated Johnny Gargano, and this took the WWE Universe by shock. Now, he is on his path to begin a new chapter of his life.

This engagement did not come as a complete shock to the fans. Previously, Aja Smith and Leon Ruff have shared images of each other on their social media profiles. The WWE Universe had also spotted the couple together backstage.

Their engagement announcement flooded social media with fans and co-workers congratulating them. It was Aja Smith who made the initial announcement. Ruff responded to her in his own style.

Leon Ruff shocked the WWE Universe

Leon Ruff has been with WWE since 2019. However, he used to be featured in very few matches. He signed the contract last month and within a month, he defeated veteran Johnny Gargano.

This victory helped him secure the North American title.

This was the second time he won a title in the wrestling industry. In fact, he has already been in a match where he had to defend the title against the former champion.

The next time Ruff defends the title will be at NXT TakeOver: WarGames against both Johnny Gargano and Damian Priest.

Aja Smith is making history in WWE

Aja Smith was a wrestler previously. Now, she is one of the women who are rising through the ranks in NXT as referees.

There is evidence to back up this claim as well. Aja Smith primarily referees for NXT. However, she was given the chance to show off her skills in the WWE Raw ring when Bobby Lashley and Denzel Dejournette were fighting.

Another reason WWE consider her to be making history is because of the way she is breaking boundaries and moving forward. She is WWE’s first ever African American female referee.

Maybe, it’s only a matter of time before she referees her fiance’s match. What do you think?
