Not only did Reigns become the second wrestler to defeat The Dead Man at the event, but also was the wrestler to retire him.

Once the match came to its end, The Undertaker took off his trench coat, hat, and gloves. He places it in the middle of the ring which is a common symbolic gesture for retirement in WWE.

Retiring The Undertaken was one of the hottest tags that Roman Reigns could have

As per Flair, this is one of the hottest tags in the history of the event and Reigns could have taken the opportunity to ride this tag forever.

However, Roman Reigns did take the opportunity to announce to the audience that there is a new sheriff in town. The RAW crowd attacked him with boos and derogatory phrases while he remained silent.

Ric Flair believes the Undertaker-Reigns match at WrestleMania 33 was a great match

Several fans are of the opinion that the main event of WrestleMania 33 was a botched event. In fact, The Undertaker himself was disappointed with himself. On the other hand, Ric Flair believes keeping all aside, it was still a “hell of a match”.

“Actually, I thought he and Roman had a hell of a match! One little botch like that they keep playing over and over again. One little botch, if you’re a guy that’s a perfectionist like Mark is, that’s gonna bug you. ‘One little botch, OK? It can be caused for a number of reasons, it can be a timing issue. That was still a hell of match!”
