“Paul Seemed Stressed Out Around Vince McMahon”- WWE Makes Huge Changes in Backlash

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon has always had a knack for making hasty decisions. It was recently announced that Paul Heyman will no longer be the Executive Head for RAW.

Reports from Wrestling News Co. suggest that Vince McMahon made some mammoth changes to the matches at Backlash after Heyman was relieved of his duties.

Making some last-minute changes to a match is nothing new to the WWE Chairman. He is infamous for the Montreal Screwjob after all. Now, it looks like he is up to his old tricks again.

Many ideas for the matches were either changed or scrapped after Heyman was removed. This includes changing the finish to one of the matches and altering storyline plans for others.

There were changes to SmackDown matches as well, but most of the changes came for RAW.

“Vince put up with some of Paul’s ideas for a while but then Vince would kill off so many good ideas and anyone who has watched Vince and Paul’s interactions knew that this arrangement was not going to last very long. Paul seemed stressed out around Vince,” Wrestling News reported.

Backlash will kick off with United States Champion Apollo Crews defending his title against former Champion Andrade according to the source, but WWE is yet to confirm it.

Many have major concerns regarding the change. As Vince McMahon looks to get RAW’s rating up, he could make some significant changes that could alter the destiny of some Superstars.

WWE Backlash will feature some spectacular matchups. The likes of Randy Orton facing Edge and Drew McIntyre going up against Bobby Lashley.

It’s hard to predict how the matches will go down now. With Heyman out of the picture, Vince could pull off many surprise endings. Backlash airs on June 14th, 2020.
