Such is the craze of professional wrestlers that they can create a storyline from out of anywhere. Not necessarily, it has to be inside the squared circle. For example, R-Truth and John Cena once crossed paths at the airport in the late 2000s.

R-Truth and John Cena were working for different promotions at that time. While R-Truth was working at TNA, Cena was performing in WWE. Though it was just a simple encounter between the wrestlers, it was reported that they were involved in a heated altercation at the airport.

How did Konnan turn a normal meeting into a heated altercation between R-Truth and John Cena?

R-Truth said (h/t: Fightful), “So, Konnan was the first guy to take me to Mexico, to wrestle and when this all happened, Cena was connecting on a flight to Charlotte and I was coming home.” He admitted that when he met Cena at the airport, they just spoke and crossed paths. People clicked pictures of them and everyone started talking about it.

The WWE superstar claimed when he got to work, everyone started asking him about what happened at the airport. He revealed it was just like ‘hey and bye’. On hearing this, people walked away disappointingly. Soon after that, Konnan said to him that the story was disappointing, and they needed to add some spice to it.

Moments later, again another came up to him to ask what happened between him and Cena. But this time Konnan added some spice to this story by claiming something which actually never happened.

While speaking with Hot 97’s Peter Rosenberg, R-Truth said, “Somebody else came up to me and went ‘hey, Truth what happened with you and Cena?’ and I said it was nothing but then Konnan said ‘yeah, but tell them about when you pushed him and he didn’t do nothing,’ and I said ‘bruh, I didn’t push him’ and Konnan said ‘oh, he doesn’t wanna tell you,’ and the guys was like ‘oh you pushed him?!’ and Konnan was like ‘exactly’ and then he said ‘see? He walked away happy.’”
