In his decorated wrestling career, Randy Orton has been through several highs and lows. And while speaking of him, along with his many titles, what comes most to mind is his many injuries. Even now he is currently recovering from one such back injury that forced him out of action.w

Injuries are no new to pro wrestlers. However, many a time it’s seen that a magnificent wrestler had to quit his career way early than expected because of it. Thus, injuries can become the worst enemies of wrestlers. And looking at the current situation of Orton and all the updates coming in from his father, it wouldn’t be incorrect to say that his back injury might have gotten the best of the WWE superstar.

A few months back, rumors of The Viper returning from his hiatus surfaced. Not only that but reports also talked about a potential feud with Cody Rhodes after WrestleMania 39. This must have turned fans crazy with excitement. But with the recent remarks of Bob Orton Jr., all these thrills might go into vain.

Speaking to WrestleBinge by Sportskeeda, the 72-year-old legend shed light on his son’s return to the wrestling scene. Adding to that, he also mentioned the doctor’s advice to the 14-time World Champion. 

He said, “I don’t know if he (Randy Orton) feels like going back. If he feels like going back or if he feels like he’s ready to go back, I think he might, then again, he’s pretty well taken care of. I don’t think he needs to. I think the doctors have told him not to.

This unfortunate update must have dejected all Orton fans, who were highly anticipating his monumental comeback. However, that being said, we also cannot look away from the last string of hope that the Hall of Fame legend gave us during his interview.

There might be still hope for The Viper’s comeback

While talking about his son’s back injury that put him on a long hiatus and now might also be the reason for his retirement, he spoke about Orton’s training as well. The legend reflected on how his son is currently training and the matter of his comeback to wrestling remains his sole decision. 

In the conversation, Bob Orton Jr. also slightly mentioned that The Viper will do what he wishes to. Now that might work as a ray of sunshine for fans as they would continue hoping for their beloved wrestler’s comeback.
