We are set to be treated to a huge match on Monday Night Raw as Keith Lee takes on WWE Champion Drew McIntyre in a rematch from last week. Lee wants to humble the undisputed Champion, and he is capable of decisively doing so. However, things may not go his way.

I think that Drew McIntyre will successfully defend the title going into Clash of Champions. The reason is simply the fact that WWE cannot let the WWE Champion head into a major PPV with a loss. Probably the only time this was done was when The Rock lost to Hurricane before heading into WrestleMania against Stone Cold.

The “limitless” Keith Lee has put out many men in the black and yellow brand and he looks to do the same on Raw. The interesting aspect of his feud with McIntyre is its intriguing history.

“The Scottish Psychopath” has had a problem with the former NXT Champion for quite a few years now. Keith Lee practically made NXT forget the name ‘Drew McIntyre.’

In one of his final matches on the brand, Keith Lee massively Powerbombed McIntyre, asserting his dominance. Later, when McIntyre invaded NXT along with the Raw team as a Survivor Series promo, he was once again stopped by a thunderous Keith Lee Powerbomb.

Recently, WWE pitted McIntyre against Keith Lee (then NXT Champion) in a Champion sparring session. This was a promo for WWE where the two engaged in some friendly ribbing. McIntyre highlighted the history between him and his opponent perfectly then.

“We do have history,” said McIntyre. “When he was showing up in Evolve, after making a name for himself around the independent scene, he Powerbombed me right out of the company, I returned to NXT right after that Powerbomb, the last thing that happened to me in Evolve.”

McIntyre will be ready for Lee next time they meet

“And then, in NXT I tore my bicep, I never really had my good-bye. To the crowd, I returned the one night during the Survivor Series period. I Claymored [Dominik] Dijakovic, had my little, ‘I’m back, everybody! I never got my good-bye,’ [moment],” joked McIntyre. “Who’s there to Powerbomb me back out of NXT? Keith Lee!

“I have a history of him Powerbombing me every time he sees me. So now either way, he’s showing up on Raw, so I’m going to have eyes on the back of my head in case Keith tries to sneak up behind me, try and Powerbomb me again.”

The two locked horns on last week’s episode of Raw, but the match was interrupted by Retribution. They are going to engage in a decisive feud on Raw tonight which is bound to be exciting.

This opponent of McIntyre’s can counter an RKO using his neck muscles, so McIntyre should make sure that the Claymore he hits packs a lot of power. He must also make sure he doesn’t miss; I reckon he’ll get just one chance.
