Edge is one of the greatest competitors in WWE history and has been through the most brutal matches with the hardest opponents. Fans remember him for those memorable TLC matches that he became an iconic part of.

However, ‘The Rated-R Superstar’ dashed a lot of hopes last night before TLC 2020. In a recent post on Instagram, Edge revealed that he would never compete in another TLC match again.

Edge’s last match at the PPV came in 2010 when he beat Kane, Rey Mysterio, and Alberto Del Rio in a Fatal 4-way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

10 years later, the Superstar is sure he won’t be working in any more of such matches, and for good reason.

Edge was forced into retirement due to the injuries sustained throughout his wrestling career. The severe damage to his neck and spine left him no choice but to leave the sport.

These injuries were a result of hardcore matches that Edge fought in throughout his early career in WWE. Seeing Edge go through a table, or falling from heights into a ladder was no rare occurrence.

Edge does not want to take the same risk again

The former WWE Champion was responsible for getting TLC the recognition it has today and gave his body to WWE. Following his retirement at just 37, Edge felt his career was ripped away from him.

Now that he is medically cleared to wrestle again, he doesn’t want to take the same risk. Even though the match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania was extreme, he assured fans that it won’t be happening a lot that way.

Edge made an unexpected and explosive return at Royal Rumble 2020. The fans could not believe their eyes as their favorite Superstar made his way back to the ring after nearly a decade.
