Drew McIntyre is one of WWE’s biggest names right now and famously carried Monday night Raw through the lockdown era, which saw a crash in ratings for the red brand due to the absence of fans from the arenas. However, the Scotsman managed to hold himself true to his reign as WWE Champion and put up some of the best storylines.

Even before his major title push, Drew had some pretty great moments between the ropes against the industry’s best stars. Although, none can top his moment with The Undertaker, which was probably a dream come true for McIntyre back in 2019.

One of the best and most dramatic moments of the match took place when Taker turned his back to signal his finisher, but Drew stood up behind him in cinematic fashion as the camera pulled off the perfect shot.

In his recent best-selling book “A Chosen Destiny”, Drew McIntyre explained how he pitched his moment with ‘The Deadman’ to the camera crew to make the best possible scene take place.

“I remember the No Holds Barred Match in July 2019, which pitted Roman Reigns and Undertaker against me and Shane McMahon at the WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view from Philadelphia.

“I had pitched this scenario to ‘Taker where he does his trademark hand-across-the-throat gesture and prepares for the Tombstone move and I just rise up behind him, unseen by him, but Roman sees me and stops my kick. That’s the sort of moment I would alert the camera guys too, so they could enhance the drama with their camera craft,” he explained. (H/T Inside The Ropes)

Drew McIntyre has stated that he wants the rematch with The Undertaker and has a deep-rooted respect for the WWE veteran. In fact, McIntyre considers Take a mentor and often asked him for advice on his in-ring performance and how to improve.

Whatever Taker told him certainly worked because ‘The Scottish Psychopath’ evolved into a beast over the last year and has become the leader Vince McMahon always saw him as. 2021 can only get better for him and we are sure that the WrestleMania setback won’t stop him.
