This combined with efficient pyro work and made it one of the best ‘Raw’ entrances of all time. Apparently, even the sword has an amusing backstory.

In a recent interview with Ryan Satin of FOX news, “The Scottish Psychopath” spoke about how the sword ended up in his hands. The WWE Champion revealed that it was Vince McMahon’s sword!

“Once the boss gets something in his head… I was just thinking, ‘What could be cool?’ Obviously, he [Vince] likes to take it a little bit further and suddenly we had the sword, then we had the pyro – and he was very hands-on with this,” said Drew.

“I guess I’ll let the cat out of the bag… The sword that I had is actually Vince’s sword! It was gifted to him by Stephanie and Hunter [Triple H]. I did not know, I believe the conversation went, ‘We need a sword’, ‘We don’t have a sword, sir’, ‘I have a sword’. I heard that story and told him, ‘Of course you have a sword!’”

Drew McIntyre had a light-hearted moment with Triple H over the sword

Apparently, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon bought the sword from an actual Scottish Sword-maker and gave it to Vince McMahon as a gift.

“I believe Hunter and Stephanie were in Scotland, and they got it – legitimate sword manufacturer. I don’t know him. I’m from Scotland, I’ve never seen the sword store! But they went out of their way to get a legitimate Scottish Claymore as a gift and then, suddenly, I was walking by the ring with the big sword and Hunter was like, ‘Didn’t I get that for Vince?’ ‘Yes, you did’.” H/T Gary Cassidy of Inside The Ropes.
