Bobby Lashley continued his dominant run on the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. As the almighty was taking down Apollo Crews, the high flying star Ricochet came out in defence of his friend.

This set up a match between the two. However, the biggest talking point from the glorified squash match was the ear injury sustained by Lashley. The brutal looking injury was almost too hard to watch and was definitely not meant for the weak of the heart.

In the ending sequence of the match, you could see Lashley’s ear bleeding profusely as he locked in the full Nelson on Ricochet for the victory. However, where exactly did Lashley get his ear busted open?

Bobby Lashley kisses the ringpost

The face smash into the ringpost is a pretty routine move that WWE does. However, considering the nature of the stunt, things can go very wrong if not executed properly.

That’s exactly what happened tonight with Lashley. As he was hoisting Ricochet ready to launch him into the post, the future of flight managed to get down and push Lashley face first into the post. The move was botched badly as Lashley had a very brutal contact.

Obviously, this is not something the WWE wants to show its viewers in 2020. They have a family friendly product now and any reference to blood is deeply censored.

That’s why, scripting any sports including a superstar bleeding is restricted for very special events. Even then, a heavy amount of censorship is used.

However, the nature of the business means that you can’t stop ugly botches from happening every now and then.

Even though you might think that Lashley looked like a beast with the pouring blood, the fact remains that it would’ve been really painful for the Almighty.

The fact that he completed the match is a testament to his brute strength.
