WWE confirmed a highly-anticipated return on Monday Night Raw. In what is expected to be a huge ratings booster, Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels would be making his return to the brand next week.

Shawn Michaels to take part in huge storyline

WWE announced on the August 14th episode of Friday night SmackDown that the Heartbreak Kid would be making an appearance. In the promo released by the website, WWE teased that the legend will address Randy Orton’s attack on his good friend Ric Flair.

Fans expect a confrontation and face-off between The Viper and Mr. WrestleMania. Additionally, this episode of RAW will be the ‘go home,’ aka the last edition before WWE SummerSlam on 23rd August.

The official promo said, “On the final Raw before SummerSlam, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels will be in attendance. Last Monday, Michaels and the WWE Universe watched as Randy Orton viciously punted Ric Flair, leaving “The Nature Boy” in need of medical attention.
How will HBK respond to seeing one of his closest friends taken out by The Viper? Tune in to Raw this Monday at 8/7 C on USA to find out!”

This return could be another opportunity for Orton, currently in his “Legend killer” spree, to punt kick another legend. The action will surely draw more heat towards his and Drew McIntyre’s title match. In fact, it could even lead to an added stipulation.

HBK is not the only one returning

That’s not the only big return scheduled for Monday Night. WWE previously announced the return of Mickie James after almost nine months of absence.

The former women’s champion has recovered from her injuries and is ready to take on ‘The Queen Of Harts’ Natalya this Monday.

WWE also teased the return of Rey Mysterio who has not been seen since his defeat in the “Eye for An Eye” match at Extreme Rules.

Seth Rollins is currently feuding with Rey’s son Dominik. The two wrestlers are set to face each other at SummerSlam.

After the kendo stick assault on Dominik, he has been given the leverage of using ‘weapons’ in the match. Rey may not wrestle but can come down to the ring to confront Seth as a part of the “retribution of a furious father,” as hinted by WWE.

It’ll be interesting to see how the events roll out before SummerSlam and whether it makes the scheduled matches more exciting.
