Before the Rumble match, Shane O’Mac pitched various ideas and wanted to move into a spot where he would become the highlight of the match. Shane even pitched to enter the Rumble match at the number one spot.

However, Vince McMahon and former WWE champion Brock Lesnar didn’t like all these changes that Shane was proposing.

Following is an excerpt of the same report from Fightful Select.

“Several sources have indicated that Shane McMahon specifically wanted to go on in a spot that would highlight him, with one even mentioning that he pitched the number one spot.”

Because of all this, one more blunder happened during the men’s Royal Rumble match. Shane was actually supposed to be number 29, and Randy Orton number 28, but in the end, their entrance numbers got reversed.

All this animosity backstage before the Royal Rumble match resulted in Shane getting fired. However, multiple former WWE superstars came forward and consoled him.
