WWE fans were treated to some heartwarming news earlier today. It may not be as big as a legendary Superstar returning, but a familiar face will make her way back to WWE. In a recent announcement, FOX revealed that former WWE Backstage Interviewer Renee Young would head home to co-host the pre-show on SmackDown! She will work along with Booker T on the event.

This news came as a big stunner since many assumed that Young and WWE had well and truly parted ways. However, it seems that she will once more cover the event.

Renee only said goodbye to the company during the kick-off show at SummerSlam in September. In a series of teary farewell videos, Superstars thanked her for her cheery personality and work for the company.

Young will not directly be appearing as a backstage interviewer like she used to. She will, however, be working exactly as she used to in the pre-show.

Renee Young will also host some of SmackDown’s Superstars who will appear from time to time in the pre-shows. This means that she will have some light-hearted moments with her friends that she left behind not so long ago.

Renee Young was expected to join AEW

Now that Young is returning, we can hopefully expect the match between her and Bayley to materialize. Although Bayley is preoccupied with a major feud with Sasha Banks, she could fight Young at least once, just for fun.

We still do not know if Young will be directly making appearances on SmackDown or even appear backstage again. However, it is comfortable to know that she will be working behind the scenes.

A lot of links were made between Renee Young and AEW. Since her husband Jon Moxley works there, fans assumed she would join him. That doesn’t seem to be the case.

Young will be doing what she does best, and that is to cover the sport. We bet Booker T would love someone as quirky and cheerful as Renee Young beside him while co-hosting the SmackDown Pre-show.
