REPORTS: Renee Young Quits WWE

Longtime WWE announcer and host Renee Young is reportedly leaving the company. She first joined the company in 2012, after being the host in a WWE recap show, “Aftermath”, in Canada.

Renee Young Resigns?

According to PWInsider, Renee handed her departure notice to WWE one week ago. Outkick First reported the news. Supposedly, WWE SummerSlam will be Renee’s last WWE pay-per-view.

Throughout her eight years long career, Renee served many roles. She started her WWE career in NXT. With her personality and interviewing skills, she quickly climbed up the ranks.

She became the first full-time female announcer in WWE history when she joined the Monday Night Raw announce team in 2018. Then, She shifted to the Smackdown team as a special contributor.

 

Renee Young also hosted pay-per-view pre-show panels with veterans of the industry. Recently, Young got to host Talking Smack and WWE Backstage on FS1. She hosted panels with the likes of CM Punk, Booker T and Christian. However, the show got canceled.

Young also appeared in the reality TV series, Total Divas. She was a regular in season four, but her appearances became sporadic throughout the later seasons.

Future of Young

Despite the shocking news, the future of Young is uncertain. She took some time off earlier this year after she tested positive for COVID-19.

Since then, she has appeared occasionally on WWE programming. She recently revealed her plans for a cookbook.

Young married AEW World Champion Jon Moxley (previously known as Dean Ambrose in WWE) last year. Due to Young being COVID-19 positive, Moxley had to stay in quarantine.

This incident postponed his AEW title defense against Brian Cage at Fyter Fest. Since Renee has close connections with AEW, fans are speculating she might join WWE’s rival company.

Thanks to her experience in hosting and broadcasting, Renee Young won’t have any drought of opportunity, inside or outside the wrestling world.

WWE and Renee Young have not officially confirmed the news yet.
