One such moment that fans could most probably recall dates back to 2022. AJ Styles, former light-heavyweight champion of WWE, once called out a long-time rival, Sami Zayn. The called-out happened ahead of an already hyped match. Although fans were already down to see the match out of their busy schedule, ‘The Georgia Pitbull’ did his job pretty well.

The fight that all the WWE lovers were waiting for finally took place. In the 2020 Clash of Champions, Sami Zayn, AJ Styles, and Jeff Hardy were all set to go against each other. Since all of them had remained title champions at least once, this match was already hyped up. The only thing that was hotter than the actual fight was the build-up. The temperature got turned up a notch when the former SmackDown wrestler called out his opponent.

Styles’ words must have damaged Sami Zayn

On a morning in WWE Talking Smack, Styles was featured. The pro wrestler came in and started hyping up his upcoming Triple Threat Ladder Match. While doing so, he also manipulated a rumor. Since ‘Battery Man’ wasn’t appearing on television for a while, there ran speculation that he and his wife have recently had a baby. ‘The Lone Wolf’ used this news to call out the former champion. “He hasn’t been doing anything. From what I hear, he’s a brand new father,” said Styles while throwing shade at his opponent.

The wrestler also implied that since his opponent’s wife is pregnant, he also must be getting bigger sitting at home. During the conversation, he also said, “Sami has probably been rubbing her feet because when you’re pregnant…he hasn’t been doing nothing but rubbing feet and eating!” This moment was a hypothetical mic drop for him as it went viral as soon as the words were out of Styles’ mouth. Even though Zayn did not reply, it must’ve surely bugged him. Still, the wrestler did not flinch from being in support of her wife’s pregnancy. However, the match actually turned out completely different.

Sami Zayn proved his ‘untouchability’

‘The Untouchable’ proved that night how his given nickname does not fall short for him. Zayn had already been considering his title, even though he was stripped of it in 2020 after he was denied a match during the pandemic. He always kept a copy of it with him. However, the Triple Threat match really proved to be a blast. In the end, Sami Zayn proved to be the real intercontinental champion out of all three.
