WWE released an advertisement for the SmackDown season premier but did not include Sami Zayn in the segment. This did not sit well with the Superstar, and he ended up calling out the company for the same.

According to Zayn, everyone believes WWE’s primary aim is to make huge profits and bring top-notch entertainment to the fans. Unfortunately, that is the secondary goal. The first and foremost goal is to humiliate Zayn at every chance the company gets.

Considering Roman Reigns, the Universal Champion, and Bayley, WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion, featured in the segment, Sami Zayn should have been involved as well. After all, he is the current Inter-Continental Champion.

Sami Zayn does not appreciate WWE’s past actions

While this advertisement is one such instance, the other was when COVID-19 hit and Zayn stayed home.

When he made the choice of not competing because of the pandemic, the company stripped him of the WWE Intercontinental Championship title. Following a tournament for the vacant title, AJ Styles emerged as the new Intercontinental Champion.

At that point, Zayn had lashed out at the company. His claim was that no Superstar can become a title holder without fighting the defending champion. Since AJ Styles never fought Zayn for the title, technically he was the true Intercontinental Champion.

WWE paid no heed to that claim and went ahead with declaring Styles as the IC Champion. Sami Zayn’s claim that WWE was unfair towards him when he voluntarily stayed back home might be unjustified.

WWE cannot leave a title undefended. If the reigning Superstar takes time off, the title still needs defending. The company did not have any other option but to declare the Championship position vacant.

In all honesty, Zayn received a fair chance to win back the title from AJ Styles at the Clash of Champions Ladder match. It was one of the best matches that Zayn has been a part of in the last couple of years. The match was highly spoken about for days following Clash of Champions 2020.
