He played a part-time rapper during his early wrestling days with the company. In addition, John Cena’s early wrestling persona was made out of the hip-hop genre called “Doctor of Thuganomics.”

The Champ used to cut rapping promos on WWE television in his early days. The WWE Universe remembers Cena’s most outstanding rap segments in the company. Fans always felt that no one else was better than the Doctor of Thugnomics when it came to rapping inside the wrestling ring.

However, John Cena shocking revealed that an AEW Star would rap better than him. The wrestler turned actor claimed that AEW’s Max Caster has a magic that he did not have while rapping.

On that note, while speaking to Forbes, the Hollywood Megastar John Cena offered high praise for Max Caster. During the interview, the host Alfred Konuwa asked Cena if he could beat Platinum Max in a rap battle.

“I know of Max Caster very well, and the answer is no,” Cena stated. The Champ put Max over himself and confidently said Max could get the better of him.

The WWE Superstar added, “He’s extremely gifted. I remember hearing him for the first time and asking a good friend of mine to please pass his information on to me. I immediately checked out his raps, out of the blue, and I saw what he was doing was spectacular.” [h/t – Forbes]

When John Cena saw Max Caster first time on television rapping, he immediately went on the Internet to see all his rapping promos. The 16-time WWE Champ was awe-struck with Platinum Max’s performance. Cena clearly stated that if he enters a rap battle with Platinum Max, he would be embarrassed himself.

According to the Doctor of Thuganomics, the 34-year-old Max Caster has reached the next level of rapping. Cena imagines if he could rap at least half as good as Max, he would be thankful.

“I wish him all the best of luck, but I can’t give him any advice because he’s punching far above my weight class. He is very gifted. He’s gifted enough to rhyme to the beat live, where I kind of did my stuff a cappella to let the punchlines sink in,” John continued.

The Hollywood Megastar could not stop singing praises for the AEW Star. In addition, John Cena believes that Platinum Max is the better version of what he did during his wrestling days.

John added, “Hip-hop constantly evolves, and it constantly moves forward, and he is the better version of what I did. He’s really, really spectacular. As long as he keeps everything in a realistic perspective, he shows great potential.”
