Contract signings are one of the best moments in any storyline. There’s just something that tells you that diplomacy will not be followed and that there will be a brawl. What makes these moments so thrilling is the crowd reaction. This is why I want to take you back a few months to one of the most awkward contract signings which took place between Roman Reigns and Goldberg.

WWE’s stadiums have been empty for months now. The live feeling just isn’t there in the matches anymore which takes a huge punch out of the whole show.

By now the promos have improved a lot and WWE has become used to the entire thing. Although, when the lockdown had just begun and fans were at home watching the show, WWE kept things on the old way.

Roman Reigns had arrived to put his storyline against Goldberg into motion. This feud was being built up ever since Goldberg won the WWE Universal Title from “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt.

Reigns had even fired shots at Goldberg by insulting his tradition in which he head-butts a door before an appearance. Goldberg did not take this lightly.

Roman Reigns didn’t hold any words back

The two exchanged a few verbal remarks towards each other, and eventually signed the contract, as you can see in the video below.

However, Goldberg had to be intimidating. He went on and tossed the table to the side of the ring and confronted Reigns face to face as they had an intense stare-off.

I found it very awkward since there was no crowd to cheer. It just seemed like two guys staring at each other weirdly. Michael Cole just stood there the whole time as well!

Unfortunately, this feud never happened at WrestleMania. Roman Reigns backed out due to health and safety concerns and Goldberg had to face Braun Strowman instead. We all know how that turned out.

We don’t know if this feud will continue once things get back to normal but fans have mixed feelings about it. All in all, this contract signing was probably the closest we would get to see of Goldberg vs Roman Reigns, and this match will probably go down as a missed shot. However, the contract signing will always be there for us to watch.
