The Miz has been giving advice to former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier on a potential WWE career. The MMA star expressed his desire to be a part of the pro wrestling juggernaut, and there have even been talks between the two. The 41-year-old former UFC champion would be one of the few athletes to make the jump from MMA to professional wrestling if he does end up signing with WWE. But the big question remains as to whether he can adapt.

Can Daniel Cormier make the transition?

The Miz revealed in the interview that it would be very difficult for Cormier to make the transition. He said, “Not many people are able to do it. Not many people can be as successful as Ronda Rousey was, which she came in and really did a tremendous job just acclimating to our style of professional wrestling.”

The comparison to Rousey is obvious. She was a household name in the UFC, and her WWE debut came pretty much out of nowhere. Rousey’s versatility in the ring complimented her strong desire to succeed as a wrestler. This was what made her worthy of ruling as the longest-reigning Raw Women’s Champion.

‘DC’ would not end up like Cain Velasquez

The Miz thinks that it would be incredible if Daniel Cormier followed in Rousey’s footsteps. The last MMA fighter that entered the squared circle was Cain Velasquez. Brock Lesnar humbled him at WWE Crown Jewel in 2019. Subsequently, the pro-wrestling company released the former UFC heavyweight champion.

For Daniel Cormier to be more like Rousey and not Velazquez, he would have to deliver good promos on a weekly basis. ‘DC’ is absolute gold on the mic and served as a UFC commentator even whilst he was an active fighter. He even wished to be a WWE commentator, but as per fans, that would be a waste of his talents. Hence, he could be a big success if his wrestling prowess were to match his skills on the mic.

“Honestly, it’s one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever seen in entertainment because it’s life. It’s in your face, it’s athleticism, it’s entertainment,” said The Miz.

Miz being ‘DC’s first opponent in WWE sounds like a cruel joke to the former WWE Champion. However, it would be wildly entertaining for fans. Would you like to see this match?
