After the Most Stupendous WrestleMania 38, it seems that rumors are finally going to be true. WrestleMania 38 expected Hollywood Megastar Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to appear and humble his real-life cousin Roman Reigns. But that did not happen because of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s busy schedule.

A dream bout between the WWE legend The Rock and the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns has been in the making for years. However, the fans might witness The Rock vs. Roman Reigns ahead at WrestleMania 39, as it was heavily teased on Johnson’s NBC hit-comedy Young Rock.

Dwayne Johnson predicted his fight with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania on the 12th of April episode of Young Rock season 2.

How did the NBC hit series tease the battle between the cousins?

Johnson’s Young Rock comedy hit series is set in 2032, which follows The Rock running for his presidential campaign. Throughout the series, Johnson flashes back to the significant moments of his childhood.

For example, in season 2, episode 5, ‘What is Business?’ fans saw Dwayne Johnson having fun with his family while wrestling. This episode is set in 1996 as Johnson began his training under his father and WWE Hall of Famer Rocky Johnson.

At one point in the episode, Dwayne Johnson was seen watching the WWE Royal Rumble 1996. The Rock watched the 1996 Royal Rumble with his parents, grandmother, The Wild Samoans (Sika & Afa Anoa’i), and The Iron Sheik.

Later, a young Joe Anoa’i, aka Roman Reigns, jumped into the lap of Sika and Afa Anoa’i as WWE Hall of Famer Yokozuna hit a Samoan Drop on TV. Young Reigns afterward gets on the back of young Johnson and tries to get somebody in the family hit him with a Samoan Drop.

However, Reigns doesn’t get the desired response, and eventually, The Tribal Chief points at the camera and yells, “Acknowledge Me!” Who knew after two decades, young Reigns would get on WWE programming and lead his supremacy with the same “Acknowledge Me!” catchphrase.

Will The Rock return to humble The Tribal Chief?

Former WWE World Champion Dwayne Johnson, who is a narrator of the story in 2032, mentioned the kid Joe Anoa’i [Roman Reigns] as his cousin. Then, an infographic pops on the screen, listing a few of the accomplishments of Roman Reigns in the WWE.

A young Roman Reigns tried to put Dwayne Johnson in a headlock, saying, “Come on, Dewey, let’s wrestle!” This is where Dwayne Johnson’s NBC hit comedy spilled the beans for a dream match down the line. Young Rock responds, “No, the world is not ready! A match that big can happen only at WrestleMania.”

This was a massive Easter egg to Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. In addition, a few days ago, the potential The Brahma Bull vs. The Tribal Chief was also teased on the final episode of the WWE Evil series produced by Peacock TV.
