The Undertaker recently announced his retirement from WWE. He had decided that he will not return for a final match and is content with the Boneyard match against AJ Styles at WrestleMania as his last fight.

Hearing this many times before, WWE fans still cannot get over the fact that The Deadman will not return to the ring ever again. There have been various opinions that The Undertaker may make his return, or that an opponent may challenge him again.

However, the retirement seems more official than ever, and Taker himself has clarified it over Instagram again. In a recent post of his wife, Michelle McCool, a fan asked whether he would compete in the ring again.

The Undertaker replied with a brief “Nope!”, which was loud and clear enough. Trying to make his retirement as real as possible, The Undertaker has been spending the last week clarifying doubts and reiterating his statement.

Die-hard fans may take a while to recover from the news. WWE itself has a large void to fill now that its “Deadman” has left the ring.

The Undertaker realized that he couldn’t keep going that way

The decision to retire came after the concerns about his wife and child hit him at Super Showdown 2019. The devastating accident on Goldberg’s Jackhammer put a lot of things in perspective for him.

It came as a rude awakening, opening his eyes to the realities of his mortality. He soon understood that he couldn’t perform and deliver on the hype as he could earlier, and dragging on his career would just be a futile crusade.
