The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia: Former WWE Superstar Reveals Saudi Prince Demanded for Him Against the ‘Deadman’

Former WWE superstar Rusev (now known as Miro) had several great moments during his WWE career. And one such moment is his match against The Undertaker at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble PPV in 2018.

Though WWE announced Rusev as The Undertaker’s opponent at first, he later got replaced by Chris Jericho. But once again, after some time, Rusev got announced as The Undertaker’s opponent for the casket match at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble PPV in Saudi Arabia.

During an episode on The Kurt Angle Show, Rusev revealed the reason behind him getting once again added to the casket match against The Undertaker in Saudi Arabia.

After WWE announced Chris Jericho as The Undertaker’s opponent, Rusev mentioned the Saudi Prince wanted Rusev to face The Undertaker.

Miro said, “But then apparently the Prince calls. He said he wants me versus The Undertaker. I got to Saudi Arabia, and I even went to a dinner.”

Rusev recalled his experience of working with The Undertaker at the WWE Greatest Royal Rumble PPV in 2018

Sharing the ring with The Undertaker is itself a great feeling. And Rusev had a similar feeling when he fought ‘The Phenom‘ in Saudi Arabia.

During the episode on The Kurt Angle Show, Rusev revealed the WWE legend was in a teaching mode. He even recalled ‘The Phenom’ talking to him for 10 minutes before the match.

Rusev said, “He was just The Undertaker. He’s in that teaching mode. And I got to learn a lot that day as well. We got to do a little match.”

“But I was just very excited for the opportunity, just even to be in the ring, listen to the gong and the music coming down. That’s an experience by itself,” he added.

When did Rusev leave WWE?

Rusev’s last match in WWE came in February 2020. During the 17th February episode of Monday Night Raw, he teamed up with Humberto Carrillo to battle Bobby Lashley and Angel Garza.

Following his WWE release, he signed with All Elite Wrestling (AEW). He also won the AEW TNT Championship in 2021.
