“They can’t write how he feels about me and how I feel about him,” said Jey in the interview. What he says makes a world of sense to any wrestling fan who’s heard wrestler after wrestler delivering boring promos written by WWE’s creative team. “We got to the level where they trust us and let us do our thing”, said Jey.

Jey described the feeling of being given the freedom to write his own promos in a very unusual way. He said, “It feels good to finally get to that level where they took the chains off us.”

The promo exchanges between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso have been very intense. The emotional connect between the two is very tangible, because of which the rivalry seems very real and not superficial at all. “In terms of what I’m saying and what he is saying, not a lot. I am reacting to what he is saying because they can’t write our promos,” said Uso.

Their match at Clash of Champions was a storytelling masterpiece. The in-ring action was decent at best with Roman brutalising his cousin. It was the story that took the match to the next level.

Roman faces Jey Uso at Hell in a Cell in a namesake match. The match will be inside the cell and will have an additional ‘I Quit’ stipulation.
