Cena has granted a total of 650 wishes, making him the celebrity with the highest number of wishes served.

During his interview with Sports Illustrated in 2018, Cena opened up on working with ‘Make-a-wish’ and why he does it.

The 45-year-old revealed, “For the longest time I did so many for them for make-a-wish. I didn’t want anyone to say anything. Even the WWE started publicizing their relationship with make-a-wish and you could see the line move in monetary contribution.”

The Leader of Cenation further stated, “So, while you publicize this, somethings, this connection is private, this connection is personal and you never want someone to feel like it’s not. It’s a very thin ice.”

However, Cena also revealed that publicizing these things are important, because it brings it out in front of the people and raises awareness, resulting in more people contributing, and thus more wishes getting granted.

What pushes John Cena into granting wishes for ‘Make-a-wish’ foundation?

Doing charity is a noble work, and John Cena does it often. He is a record holder in being the person who has granted the highest number of wishes.

However, what pushes him into doing these? In the same interview with Sports Illustrated, Cena revealed that the fact sometimes, it is the child’s one, and it pushes Cena into granting such wishes.

He said, “Early on, I related a strong connection with make a wish and I think it’s wonderful because the kids choose. It is their wish. It’s not like, you are an extra thing.Like, they want to meet this person. Like they want to go to this place. And, it’s their one wish. And that wish can provide tremendous hope and the power of hope can do some really really cool things.”

The 16-times World Champion stated that, now that he has been a part of this philanthropic cause, he cannot move away from it any longer, and he feels special about it.
