The wrestling fraternity suffered a massive loss when Ring of Honor icon Jay Briscoe tragically passed away in a car accident on Tuesday, January 17. Jay was heading back after taking his daughter to a cheerleading competition when the accident occurred, leading to his sudden demise. Many top names in the pro wrestling business came together to mourn the 38-year-old’s death in such horrifying circumstances. Stars from WWE, AEW, and New Japan sent their condolences to the Briscoe family. AEW wrestler Malakai Black was among those who paid a tribute to Jay. He called the late wrestler incredible and also shared a special message for his followers.

In an Instagram post, Black posted a picture of Jay Briscoe with a detailed caption. He wrote that it is hard to come up with words and he can tell what a great guy he was, but doesn’t know where to start. The former WWE talent also wrote that Jay was a valuable wrestler, but that is a conversation of its own.

Black then mentioned he told his friends that he loves them because life was quick. He wrote, ” I’ve told a lot of my friends that I loved them today, because this life is quick, but sometimes, suddenly, it’s even quicker.”

The House of Black leader also urged people to live their life like Jay did and don’t waste time. He continued, “Don’t waste your time, live. Jay did, and he was incredible and did incredible things.” The fact that such an iconic talent was taken away from the wrestling world so suddenly in such a tragic manner has surely put things into perspective for a lot of people.

Ashley Pugh, the wife of Jay Briscoe, shared an update on their two daughters on her Facebook hours after the accident. She asked people to pray for them as their daughter Gracie was undergoing surgery on her back and Jayeligh, their other daughter, was stable after suffering serious injuries.
