It seems as if WWE had its own chance to introduce a major debut earlier this year, but the opportunity sailed past. It was revealed in a recent interview, that former TNA star James Storm was all set to join WWE.

In a recent interview with Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet, the veteran fighter spoke all about the topic and how the plans all blew up.

“I get home and I see I got an email from Canyon Ceman saying, ‘Hey, we’re interested. Paul Heyman wants me to reach out and bring you to Raw,” said Storm. “I was like, ‘Wait … I think Bobby is going to Raw. Hmmm. This could be interesting.’ Ya know?”

During the negotiation process, Stop reveals that he was given a temporary contract with NWA. Billy Corgan and Dave Lagana of the NWA Tag team division hooked him onto a contract that would let him go when the WWE interest advanced.

“I told them I would work the weekend of WrestleMania shows with Eli [Drake] to drop the NWA belts to whoever they wanted to drop it to. Just go out on good terms. Good business, ya know? Then that show got canceled for the NWA, and then it kept snowballing.”

The deal for James Storm was done and ready-to-go

Storm reveals that the deal was as good as done and he was all set to make his WWE debut in June,

“We agreed on all the terms,” said Storm. “It was signed.”

Storm was actually close to joining WWE in October 2015. He competed in two matches on NXT before deciding to sign for TNA instead for a better package.

Perhaps we may see Storm join AEW in the end. The rival promotion will definitely welcome him with open arms. The next move is in the hands of James Storm, and he has a very tempting decision to make.
