Triple H Weighs In On “The Best Women’s Wrestler in the World” Debate

In a recent interview, Triple H revealed his pick for the best woman wrestler out there. From the many cards at his table, Triple H name Io Shirai!

Yes! That’s right. One of the highest men in the WWE Universe has named NXT superstar as one of the best wrestlers in the women’s decision and the world. 

Stephanie McMahon saw through the upliftment of the WWE Women’s division a few years ago. This broke it from the ‘Divas’ shackles into a much stronger and defined division.

Since then, talented female wrestlers like Sasha Banks, Bayley, Paige, and Charlotte Flair have all got the platform they need to perform at the highest levels.

From this division of high potential, Triple H finds Io Shirai as someone to look out for.

He feels she has a lot of potential. To prove this Shirai will have to do her best at the highest levels. He opportunity will come when she faces Charlotte and Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Title at Takeover. 

This will be a pretty heated encounter but Shirai can definitely come out victorious. Triple H had a lot of for her. It seems that he may be hinting at her being the next NXT Women’s Champion.

Triple H believes Io Shirai can make it to the top

When asked about Charlotte Flair, he says that she fights like any unbeatable champion should and is very talented. However, he stills favors his first pick over her, saying that Shirai could go higher.

For Shirai, she’s seen a lot of road bumps when competing with the savage Shayna Baszler. She’s come out of that duel better than ever. Getting such praise from someone like Triple H means a lot. If the big man has faith in her, she may well turn out to be one of the best.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, however. We need to keep in mind that Rhea Ripley hasn’t had a one-on-one match with Charlotte Flair since Wrestlemania. She will be looking for one against this champion or the next.

Either way, Io Shirai will have hard sailing ahead and will have to perform accordingly. How she handles the compliment from Triple H is entirely up to her. 

We must not take Triple H’s words as gospel truth however; there’s a reason they call him ‘The Game’. We’ll see what’s in store for Io Shirai soon, at Takeover.
