UFC fans are still in shock at what they saw at UFC 278. In the final round of the title match, Kamaru Usman suffered a brutal knockout. In their comments on the fight, Daniel Cormier and Joe Rogan said that it was far more surprising than the fight between Ronda Rousey and Holly Holm.

Leon Edwards brutally outclassed the former champion, who had never lost in UFC fights. Rowdy had a similar winning streak in 2015 when Holm startled her by shocking her with KO. Meanwhile, Rogan thinks Usman’s loss was more unexpected than Rousey’s.

To put things in perspective for those who are not UFC fans, the shock that Usman’s recent loss impacted the UFC fans. Edwards won this championship after landing a perfectly timed head kick with one minute left on the clock, despite controlling the match the entire time.

And it’s interesting to note that in 2015 at UFC 193, Rowdy was also unbeaten like Usman, and both had to lose the fight in a comparable way. DC and Joe Rogan expressed their opinions. The chat is as follows:

“This is different, this is different, I mean all due respect to Ronda. The level of the whole this is different. Everything is different. The dominance is different, the whole thing is different, and the level of competition is different that Kamaru has bested everything different.”

Rogan claims that because Usman has far more domination than Rousey has, “The Nigerian Nightmare’s” victory was more significant.

Holly Holm upset Ronda Rousey at UFC 193

Fans still recall the memorable Holly Holm vs Ronda Rousey UFC fight to this day. Rousey, who had never lost in MMA, was aiming for another successful championship defense at the time. Fans had low expectations for Holm going into the battle, making her the clear underdog.

With ruthlessly dropping Rousey with a wonderfully timed head kick, Holm disproved the doubters. Rousey’s career came to an end with this infamous kick, and she lost to Amanda Nunes again shortly after. Currently, The Baddest Woman on the Planet is performing under WWE SmackDown brand and is on suspension after pinning down referee during her match with reigning SmackDown champion Liv Morgan.

However, Joe Rogan believes Usman’s ouster was more unexpected than Rousey vs Holm since he had already beaten Edwards once and was clearly the better player in the match until one mistake cost him the contest. What do you think about the match? Please tell us in the comments.
