‘He Has Used His Muscles’: Arnold Schwarzenegger Gave Major Props to WWE Legend for Physical Capabilities That Even the Greatest Bodybuilders Lack

Many luminaries, like Arnold Schwarzenegger, are fans of the sport thanks to WWE’s huge impact. It is obvious that wrestlers must undergo extensive training since they have to perform many tasks at once while also acting competing safely, and being physically athletic. Thus, wrestlers are somewhat different from other athletes.

And while we’re on the subject of wrestlers, Hulk Hogan is among those who helped make it so well-known. Hulkamania was the biggest wrestling icon in the 1980s and 1990s. He possessed the charisma, physique, and attitude that were essential for a wrestler.

Additionally, Hogan received high praise from seven-time Mr. Olympia for having physical qualities that not even the best bodybuilders possess. Thanks to his enthusiasm and love for professional wrestling, Austrian Oak has made multiple appearances in WWE.

Likewise, in 2014, Joe Manganiello and Arnold Schwarzenegger appeared to promote the movie. He complimented Hogan while speaking with Renee Young. In his words, “Hulk Hogan in a ring who was one of my body-building buddies. And an incredible friend who has huge muscles for something so athletic.”

“Because you know, in professional wrestling always tells people you the really know the athleticism and the jumps and the flips you have to be gymnast, bodybuilder, strong men and wrestler everything combined in one this is why I admire this guy so much.”

Given that, unlike wrestlers, bodybuilders aren’t particularly athletic due to their large muscle build. Hogan, who had a great physique like any bodybuilder, but was athletic and could pull off all the flips and other maneuvers that wowed Austrian Oak. Additionally, he also mentions the wrestler who first piqued his interest in the sport.

When did Arnold Schwarzenegger first become interested in professional wrestling?

In the same interview, The Terminator shared that when he saw Bruno Sammartino; he was in awe of the professional wrestlers.

For new WWE fans who are unfamiliar with him, Sammartino was a very powerful wrestler with the intimidating physique of which anyone can only dream. Consequently, he also turned Schwarzenegger into a fan. Notably, In 2013, Schwarzenegger did the honor of inducting WWE legend Bruno Sammartino into the Hall of Fame.
