Vince McMahon to Kick Off WWE’s ThunderDome Era on SmackDown

Vince McMahon does not appear on WWE programs anymore. However, he is always backstage, making sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Surprisingly, the owner will return to Live TV this Friday.

WWE Welcomes ThunderDome with Vince McMahon

WWE confirmed on Twitter that Mr. McMahon would kick off the Go-home edition of Friday Night SmackDown. This is the last live show before WWE SummerSlam.

The reason behind the appearance is clear as day. This Friday, SmackDown will shift from the WWE performance center to the Amway Centre in Florida. This shift marks the beginning of WWE ThunderDome era – a new virtual experience. It is only reasonable that McMahon will be present there to welcome the change.

Equipped with LED boards, enhanced pyrotechnics, lasers, and drones, ThunderDome sounds like a sci-fi dream. WWE is using this technique in collaboration with the Famous Group. Amway Centre, aka the ThunderDome, will be the home to RAW, SmackDown, and Pay-Per-Views for the foreseeable future.

The shows will be shot in a closed set with only the essential personnel. There won’t be any live audience. Every COVID-19 safety measure will be followed along with regular tests.

Expectations from SmackDown

This week, there are two title matches taking place in the blue brand. First, as the headline event, AJ Styles will defend his Intercontinental title against Jeff Hardy.

Shinsuke Nakamura and Cesaro will defend their SmackDown Tag team Championships against Lucha House Party, aka Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado.

Big E will go one on one against Sheamus.

WWE Universal Champion, Braun Strowman, will appear to make a statement about his “change.”

To sum it up, fans have a lot of things to look forward to this Friday night. With the ratings falling every week, the appearance of Vince McMahon along with the debut of ThunderDome will boost up the ratings and interest of the fans.
