In the latest news from Extreme Rules 2020, things truly went extreme during the battle for the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship between Kofi Kingston & Big E representing reigning champions New Day and Nakamura & Cesaro.

The fight was a Tables match. This means that the winner would be decided by whoever sends their opponent through the table.

Both teams attempted to double their chances. A total of at least four tables were used during the fight at one point or the other.

Cesaro and Nakamura worked excellently as a team, each having the back of the other at all times. New Day, for some reason, was off of their rhythm during the match.

Nakamura and Cesaro played effective roles in separating the two. At some point in the match, however, Kofi found his usual momentum and took it all out on the two opponents.

Kofi Kingston doomed himself

He placed a table on top of another in order to finish off one of his opponents. However, quite ironically, the tables were turned on New Day.

Big E was quickly taken out of the equation by Nakamura and Cesaro, who then focused their undivided attention to Kofi. Kofi did manage to overcome the handicap at first but was easily outmaneuvered later.

Cesaro then used his superhuman strength to lift up a helpless Kofi up for a powerbomb off the top rope, sending him straight through the two tables outside the ring.

Kofi Kingston had dug his own grave by setting it up in the first place. Nakamura and Cesaro won the match, gaining the title from the Tag team veterans. The trio will surely be looking to take back their crown, which we will find out about in the coming episodes.

Cesaro is now a seven-time tag team champion. His work with Sheamus makes him highly experienced in the trade. He can teach Nakamura well, who is still relatively new to tag-team wrestling.

These two can surely make it a long reign if they keep working like they did today.
