CM Punk is by far one of the most charismatic Superstars to ever enter the WWE ring. His natural talent on the mic earned him an unreal following back in his time at WWE.

Towards the end of his career in the company, Punk faced the challenge of challenges and stared straight into his eyes.

Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar were notoriously shaking up the main roster. “The Beast Incarnate” was laying waste to everything in his path. However, he made the wrong decision crossing “The Best in the World” CM Punk.

In a tale of betrayal, Paul Heyman was the focus of the rivalry. After ditching CM Punk to manage Brock Lesnar full time, Paul Heyman had the audacity of challenging Punk.

He even called out Punk for a Handicap Match against him and Lesnar. Punk outsmarted both of them on that occasion by attacking them from behind.

He used a recording camera to catch Lesnar off guard. Paul Heyman just managed to escape, by using Curtis Axel as a means to slow down Punk. CM Punk, however, made a statement of axel by delivering a GTS to him in front of Lesnar.

The main showdown at SummerSlam was a legendary match. The two Superstars used all they had in the tank. CM Punk, despite being at a physical disadvantage, used his cunning tactics to level the playing field.

Paul Heyman played a huge role in CM Punk vs Brock Lesnar

CM Punk delivered a huge Go To Sleep to Brock Lesnar and was about to win the match. However, Paul Heyman interfered and broke the count. The match was a No Disqualification, so all this was permitted.

CM Punk then locked Lesnar in an Anaconda Vice and was about to seal the win again. Unfortunately, Paul Heyman interfered yet again, bringing a steel chair into the ring.

Before he could pick it up, Punk took Heyman down and locked him in an Anaconda Vice! In the heat of the moment, Punk didn’t notice Lesnar getting to his feet.

“The Beast Incarnate” picked up the steel chair and slammed it onto the back of Punk several times. These hits could be heard loud and clear.

Lesnar then picked up a winded Punk and delivered a final F-5 onto the steel chair, pinning Punk and winning the match. Brock Lesnar had won, but only by the skin of his teeth.

CM Punk left with all his respect, however, and almost managed to muster a win. Alas, the day was not his, and Lesnar would continue his path of fire through the main roster.

CM Punk could possibly return to WWE one day. Hopefully, he comes sooner rather than later. There’s no doubt that he would be greeted by a warm ovation.
