Mike Tyson has been in the cultural limelight since the beginning of the millennium. He had put up several appearances in the WWE, even refereeing a match between Shawn Michaels and ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin at Wrestlemania. In a rare crossover between pro-wrestling and boxing, Iron Mike Tyson made an appearance on RAW in 2010.

Tyson initially came out as Chris Jericho’s teammate, to fight against D-Generation X – Triple H and Shawn Michaels. The bout went on normally until Hornswoggle joined the ring. Tyson then revealed that he had teamed up against Jericho, and struck him with a destructive right hook. Jericho recounted his thoughts on the lead up to the knock-out punch.

The moment before he swung at me, I told him, ‘Just wait until I put my hands up in the air, and swing. Jericho stated, clearly weary of being knocked out for real by the hardest puncher on the planet.

Time stood still. I am the craziest man on the planet right now, because I’m waiting for Iron Mike Tyson to take a swing at me. I thought ‘I’m going to let him do it. Hopefully, he’s going to do it the proper way. But what if he’s mad? What if he misses? Jericho revealed these thoughts in an interview that took place long after Tyson’s appearance in the WWE.

Tyson was infamous for destroying his opponents in the ring, long after his physical prime as a fighter. The hand that had knocked out some of the hardest chins in the sport was now flying towards Jericho at full speed. The Superstar recollected the moment, He barely grazed me, but I felt a wind go by my face,” Chris stated.

“That’s how fast he swung. It was like a ‘Swoosh!’ Who swings that hard and leaves a vapor trail?!”

Even though the punch missed on purpose, it looked like it had connected, and it definitely looked like Jericho was in pain.
