Booker T wants to see Roman Reigns vs Edge at WrestleMania 37

Reigns is dominating SmackDown as Universal Champion. On the other hand, Edge is nursing an injury and has not been drafted to a particular brand.

Booker T initially joked about Edge taking some time off from the ring. The Rated-R Superstar suffered a torn pectoral muscle during his match against Randy Orton and has been unseen since he lost to Orton at Backlash.

Booker said, “Edge has had a match with Randy Orton and he came out of that thing bruised, battered and torn, you know, beat up to the point where he had to take off for a year or six months or a couple of years, we don’t know how long he’s going to be gone. He may be finished. He may be done forever. We don’t know.”

The 6x World Champion also thought that Edge against Roman Reigns would be a true WrestleMania moment.

He said, “It will be a moment because the two eras collide and people always love to see ‘old lion vs young lion’. Will that be a moment for the fans from that era who loved Edge – Rated R Superstar – taking on Roman Reigns, yeah it will be something, it will be something to see.”

The two crossed paths at the Royal Rumble

Edge and Roman Reigns clashed at the 2020 Royal Rumble for the first time ever. Notably, Edge made his return to a massive pop at the event.

He and Roman were part of the final four, which included Randy Orton and eventual winner Drew McIntyre. Edge managed to dodge a spear from Reigns and hit him with one of his own. However, Reigns got the last laugh by eliminating Edge from the match.

So this was my Sunday. Actually it was filmed two weeks ago. So I’m officially out of self quarantine and back to being dad. After being Edge for WrestleMania 36. For the first time in a singles match in 9 years. Against, in my opinion, the most naturally talented person in the industry in @randyorton I will always be proud of what we accomplished with some strange circumstances. I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of each other. And for that I’m strangely thankful. He pulled me to a 40 minute fight after being retired for 9 years. Wasn’t sure I had that in me. Now I know. He pushed me. For all of you, hopefully you watched WrestleMania and were able to get lost in it and try to forget about our current reality, even if only for a few hours. I’d also like to thank EVERYONE for the outpouring of positivity for the @wwe 24 documentary, The Second Mountain. Also, thank you to the ENTIRE team it took to support me and make all of this happen. I’ll get to you all on separate posts😉 It’s humbling. Lastly, stay safe everyone.

Since the Royal Rumble, both men have been part of massive storylines. In fact, their presence was a much-needed boost to the Raw and SmackDown rosters.

Edge faced Randy Orton in two brutal but brilliant battles. On the other hand, Reigns returned to win the Universal Championship and is facing Jey Uso in what could be the rivalry of the year.

Both men are capable of creating magic in the ring, irrespective of the opponent. While Big E and Randy Orton are touted as their respective WrestleMania opponents, the hopes of seeing Reigns vs Edge is not something the WWE Universe will give up on.
